For my report, I am going to be listening to and analysing the radio programme called 'Going Home with Vick and Jordan on Radio 1' which is broadcasted by BBC Radio 1. I will discuss the different presenters and the structure of the content within the programme, alongside what the content the programme contains. When talking about the content of the programme, I will be looking into the different types of production techniques and how they create meaning for the target audience. I will round off my report by looking into how BBC Radio 1 follow the guidelines set by OFCOM before concluding it all.
The main presenters of my chosen radio programme are Vick Hope and Jordan North. Sometimes, Vick takes responsibility as the main presenter and other times it is Jordan, but they also often host the show together. When it is just one of them, they usually invite a co-host to present the radio programme with them. For example, when Vick is hosting, she has previously had Arielle Free (a DJ and broadcaster most well known for Love Island podcast) and Dean McCullough (a radio DJ and tv/radio presenter who is most well known for his work on Gaydio discussing current LGBTQIA+ issues in society) join her for a week. Whereas, at one time Jordan has co-hosted with Katie Thistleton - a television & radio presenter and qualified as as journalist and author, most known for her work on the CBBC channel. However, these co-hosts usually only show for a week or two while Vick and Jordan remain the main presenters for the radio programme. The radio programme is broadcasted from 3:30pm to 5:45pm on the radio station of BBC Radio 1.
