Explain the processes and technologies involved in producing a radio broadcast

Checklist:
Within this report, I am going to be discussing the different types of processes and technologies included within producing a radio broadcast. I am going to talk about the difference between reporting live and pre recorded material as well as the type of equipment which is needed for both types. Furthermore, I will explain how radio shows broadcast shows on both AM/FM, DAB and online as well as the advantages and disadvantages of using each type of broadcasting for a radio show.

When creating a radio show, the personnel responsible for ensuring its' existence and success uses a variety of different technology. For a basic low power FM broadcasting station (LPFM is a type of non commercial station that can only reach a smaller area of a region due to the amount of low transmitter power), you would need at least a professional studio and the necessary broadcasting equipment. All of this equipment should be the most advanced, licensed and approved within the country they are operating in. Some basics for equipment needed include a studio mixing board, microphones, headphones, a broadcast media server for radio automation, a scheduler, a STL studio transmitter link, a LPFM transmitter, a power supply, a lightning protector, a transmission line and an antenna. All of these pieces of equipment creates a system for the radio show to be broadcasted across the air for the audience to receive through their devices and listen to.
